I spent last weekend at the University of Madison. I was there for work, but most everyone else was there for the big Badger football game. It was also parents weekend. It made finding a hotel room a real chore and when I did find one, they charged me an arm and a leg for it.
The campus is beautiful. It is spread out, and quite pleasant. Despite the big game, it was so quiet and calm. It sits on the bank of Lake Mendota. I briefly entertained the idea of renting a cabin on this lake with friends in the early summer. I bet it would be a very affordable and relaxing vacation. I may tuck that idea away as a future possibility.
I was fortunate to have really nice weather. When I was able to take a break from work, I walked along the lake until I came upon the student union. These are the tables and chairs all piled up. I really like this photo! The interesting combination of colors and the shadows they created on the ground caught my attention. They were probably put away for the weekend. But that didn't stop people from grabbing a few of them and sitting down to enjoy the sun. They should. It will soon be too cold there for this Californian!
