Cactus Flower, San Antonio 2005
Sometimes we run into unexpected treasures. In a previous post, I discussed the San Antonio missions. Well, one of the least attractive was Mission San Juan Capistrano. It was small, and looked like a concrete bunker. You can see a picture of it here to get an idea. Usually, they just show the bell tower in the photos because that is the most interesting part.
What I found near the entrance of the mission was a large set of cactus plants with these beautiful yellow flowers. And honestly, without the flowers, the cactuses wouldn't have been that attractive either. But, like treasure hunting, you never know what you will find and even ugliness holds beauty!
